Boy After Bath27 viewsThis is a resin cast from a mold of an original sculpture of mine. My little son loves to run through the house after his bath wearing nothing but a towel, and he usually loses the towel pretty quick. When we were little, my brother's Naked Run Through the House was legendary. Maybe all little boys do this.

Egyptian caryatid doll37 viewsShe looks like she doesn't have any arms, but I think I like the concept. A caryatid is a female figure used as a column in architecture. I have her hanging on the wall in my entry hall. I'm going to work on another caryatid but work more on the arms and legs. She has black novelty yarn for hair.

examples to work with kids39 viewsI'm going to use some DAS clay with my sunday school class, so I made up these three examples of projects. I'm amazed at how well that head turned out. I think I am going to have to finish that doll, which was not my intention when I started this.
The Venus of Willendorf was the whole reason that I wanted to do this lesson. Yay, Willendorf.

Obitsu61 viewsHere is my japanese jointed doll with my first pass of painting the face. This is harder than I thought it would be. The techniques that I use on polymer clay don't work, because the paint stains the vinyl everywhere it touches. There is no smudging it on and wiping it off -- it has to be perfect the first time. This isn't a great picture. It looks like I did a good job because the tiny splotches aren't visible.
