Man, I look like such a freak35 viewsThere is a reason that I'm making mudpies. Really there is.

You see, a while back I had this idea that using aquarium gravel as mulch was a brilliant idea. I had this dream of a sort of psychadelic zen garden. It didn't work particularly well as mulch, but it might work better combined with paper and in a thicker layer. That's my thought anyway. But now that I have decided to reduce the size of this garden bed that I've never been able to keep up with, I needed to scrape up all the aquarium gravel.

Obitsu61 viewsHere is my japanese jointed doll with my first pass of painting the face. This is harder than I thought it would be. The techniques that I use on polymer clay don't work, because the paint stains the vinyl everywhere it touches. There is no smudging it on and wiping it off -- it has to be perfect the first time. This isn't a great picture. It looks like I did a good job because the tiny splotches aren't visible.
